As a kid it never bothered me that Spongebob and Patrick were parents, I never cared that Jimmy was a bit feminine, I never questioned the fact that Him was a cross dresser, I never questioned Vanity smurf’s sexuality, it never bothered me that Chucky had a mom and sister of a different race or that Betty and Howard’s gender roles were switched, and I didn’t care that Mulan was a woman in a man’s world. It’s sad how some parents are disgusted when they see stuff like this and tell their kids that they’re suppose to be masculine or feminine, or that marriage is only for a man and a woman, that a woman is meant to be at home while the men are at work, and I find it especially sad when parents teach their kids that interracial marriage is disgusting. Your gender, sexuality, race or religion doesn’t matter. The only thing that does matter is that you love yourself and others around you for who they are the way we loved our childhood characters.
I like this post.
Rape isn’t about uncontrollable sexual desire. You only have to listen in on a Call of Duty game to see that. When that kid crows, “I raped you!”, he’s not calling the other guy sexy; he’s saying he defeated him, dominated him, humiliated him. That’s what rape is about, and that should scare you.
gonna reblog this till I stop tumbling
